This year's Festival of Racing has had countless memorable moments! As we reflect on what has been an outstanding Festival of Racing, we've highlighted 5 of our favourite top memories.
Festival of Racing Launch - Pontoon
This year's Festival of Racing launch was like no other. Held at the beautifully renovated Pontoon at Stokehouse, with Hamish McLachlan as host and the likes of Darren Weir, Troy Corstens, Regan Bayliss and Katelyn Mallyon getting up on stage and taking part, it was the perfect way to kick off the festival and get everyone geared up for fantastic racing.
Caulfield Family Day - Caulfield Racecourse
On a beautiful sunny Saturday, families took to Caulfield for their Festival of Racing Family Day. With a mini carnival, amusement rides, face painting and more the day was a huge success, giving families the opportunity to share the magic of the Festival and have a brilliant day out.
Flemington Grazing Trail & Cellar Door - Flemington Racecourse
Returning this year was the Flemington Grazing Trail & Cellar Door on Super Saturday. Flemington opened up their prestigious front lawn and set up shop - or should we say picnic - as part of their stunning Grazing Trail and Cellar Door raceday experience. Racegoers were treated to amazing selection of food from the best boutique breweries, wineries and producers in the state.
St Paddy's Night - The Valley Racecourse
A St Patrick's Day to remember was held at Moonee Valley this Festival of Racing, with green taking over the track in more ways than one. Coincidentally, two big winners on the night were an Irish born racehorse (Fastnet Latina) and a jockey donning green (Damien Lane for Pat Cannon's Punt Club)! The luck of the Irish took over The Valley, making it one of the most memorable - and fun - night races of the Festival.
Yarra Valley Cup - Yarra Valley Turf Club
One of the biggest country racing days on the Festival of Racing calendar, the Yarra Valley Cup was a fantastic day showcasing the best of Country Racing. Unveiling their new fashion precinct with a Fashions on the Field competition, the Yarra Valley Cup really showcased the beauty of more relaxed style.
