"At the age of 44, Dwayne Dunn has shown no signs of slowing down, having won 23 Group 1 races. He's regarded as one of the safest hands in racing."
Dwayne Dunn is considered one of the champion senior jockeys in the Australian riding ranks, having been awarded the Scobie Breasley Medal - the Victorian industry's highest riding honour - for his 2015-16 season. Dunn's services are utilised by a wide-spanning selection of stables.
He has a strong record in the Blue Diamond Stakes, winning it four straight years from 2005-08.
His luck in recent times is best summed up by the late scratching of his star Melbourne mount Chautauqua in the Manikato Stakes, and then the misfortunes with Royal Symphony in the Caulfield Guineas - and subsequently the latter's autumn campaign being called off due to injury. But don't expect that to keep him down for too long, as he remains in the top group of senior riders heading into the Festival of Racing.
